Mimi Fariña on her would-be 80th birthday

I'd love to honour and remember Mimi Fariña on her would-be 80th birthday. She was a beautiful person and a fresh musician, whose gracious, serene conversation rests on my conscience like a tattoo. As an example, we need a world of Mimis. The photo was taken on the day of her then husband's book signing in Carmel, CA. Richard Fariña would be dead by 7 p.m. that evening after a stupid motorcycle accident. More than any photo I've seen, this captures Mimi's intense goodness and perhaps her noble sadness. Long live Bread and Roses.
