Robert Brackman

There is a timelessness, a completely impersonal disregard of current trends, in the work of Robert Brackman. His paintings belong to no one life span. They remain undated. In expressing his artistic philosophies, he says: "My greatest aim is to bring my art to such a simple and understandable form that the common man can enjoy it regardless of subject matter and without the need for interpretation. Even ignorant people worshipped the old masters." Odessa, Russia, was his birthplace in 1898. When he was twelve the Brackman family migrated to America.
