Edgar Barclay - Filles dans un bois d'automne

Edgar Barclay studied art in Germany and Italy, and lived in both Italy and England. He was an artist and author known for his landscape paintings. In the early 1880s, Barclay returned to England and became interested in painting rural scenes of Wessex. He was known for his skilful handling of light and big skies and fresh green nature. Here, young women collecting winter wood, are listening to brook falling waters. Beautiful.
