In the video notes, we can read: "‘Song for You’ is a
personal gift for my foster son, who is now seven years old. One evening, as we
were getting ready for bed, he asked me out of the blue, whether I’d still look
after him once I’d passed away. I think I just stammered something, as I was so
taken aback.
The question really got
me thinking. A few days later, whilst I was lost in thought and improvising on
my guitar, this melody popped into my head and the words just poured out of me.
