"Cross Eyed and
Crazy" is an original musical clown tune by Rimski & Handkerchief,
known for playing their Bicycle Piano & Double Bassicle. Because it is an
exclusive street performance song, formal studio lyrics are not available. However,
the chorus and verses feature catchy, old-time country blues lines, and I tried
to get the lyrics with some imperfections.
Cross-eyed and crazy, I’m
wild about my Daisy
she as happy as she can
be!
She doesn’t like
potatoes, neither tomato
sausages and beans.
And every time she’s
downtown looking for a new clown
you can always see
somebody else’s face
She’s a bold and lovely
lady
cross-eyed and crazy,
lazy on a sunny day.
Well, if you’re going
fishing all the time
I’m going fishing, too!
Let me love you, love
you
but that she caught
more fish than you.
Well, if she caught,
now, you got good bait
Here’s a little
something I would like to relate
And if she caught now,
you got good bait
I’m a going fishing,
too!
So, when the morning
sun is shining in the West
She’ll be dancing in
those ragtime dresses she likes best
Everybody’s watching as
the banjo plays
and a two-legged gypsy
drives the people hopping away.
Well, Daisy can play it
people started crying
"Here’s the dancing
lady come walk fast!"
She’s a bow-legged lady,
but I said,
"Ain’t crazy, lazy on a
sunny day?"
What about the cat? Lovely!
