"Come Lasses and
Lads" is a traditional English folk song from the 17th century about the
Maypole festival, where young people gathered with their parents' permission to
dance and find a partner. It is a festive song in 6/8 time signature and has
appeared in numerous variations, with the earliest known copy in a 1672
publication called Westminster Drollery.
