I always remember the
line "thanks, for the trouble you took from her eyes, I thought it was
there for good, so I never tried." On the musical side, it's worth to notice that
the chord progression and the intro are clearly inspired by Schubert's
Serenade, that Schubert wrote a few hours before dying. The atmosphere of quiet
desolation is the same.
