A crack of light shines through the blind
in the window of my mind
I see a door in the dark room
opening into something new
I’m on my toes trying to see through.

Death stands in his black coat
awaiting by his boat
He’ll take my hand one final day
even though I will want to stay
We’ll step on board and we’ll sail away.

There is still time on the clock
before I head down to that dock
I will keep walking this old wynd
for myself I am trying to find
