Nick Alm (Swedish b. 1985) - Bedroom, 2023

This painting is an example of contemporary figurative realism, characterised by subtle lighting and carefully observed details. The bedroom setting invites reflection on privacy, intimacy and the emotional atmosphere of everyday life. Alm’s refined handling of colour, texture and light gives the scene a convincing physical presence, while its quiet domestic setting suggests a moment suspended in time.
