Andrey Simakov was born in the family of woodcarving
artists and was influenced by that. The early contact with masters such as Durer
and Holbein influenced him to become an artist. Graduating from the Art College with honours degree he
continued his studying in the Moscow Teachers Training University, the faculty
of fine arts where he studied water-coloured drawings, painting and
composition.
